This Privacy Policy describes how makemypost ("makemypost", "we", "us") handles information when you use our iOS app.

Summary

  • No accounts: makemypost does not require account creation or sign-in.
  • Your photos: we access your photo library only to curate content on your device. We do not upload or store your photos on our servers.
  • Usage data: we may collect anonymous usage information to improve the app. This information is not linked to your identity and does not include your photos or captions.

Information We Access

Photos

makemypost requests access to your Photos library to let you select content and generate posts.

  • Photo analysis and curation are performed using iOS frameworks on your device.
  • We do not upload your photos to our servers.
  • If your photos are stored in iCloud Photos, iOS may download originals to your device when needed. This is handled by Apple and governed by your iCloud and iOS settings.

App Data Stored On Your Device

makemypost stores certain information locally on your device to function properly, such as:

  • App preferences (e.g., default post style/type)
  • Usage counters (e.g., free-tier remaining posts)
  • Generation history (if you use history features)

Your preferences, photo selections, generated captions and post history are stored on your device. Limited anonymous usage information may be collected separately, as described below.

AI Features

makemypost can generate captions and related text using Apple's on-device capabilities when available.

  • We do not send your photos to our servers for caption generation.
  • Depending on your device, iOS version, and settings, Apple's services and policies may apply to any AI processing performed by Apple-provided frameworks.

Purchases and Subscriptions

If you purchase a subscription, payments are processed by Apple through the App Store.

  • We do not receive your payment card information.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account subscription settings.

Sharing to Third-Party Platforms

When you choose to share content to social media (e.g., Instagram, TikTok), that content is sent from your device to that platform. Those services process data under their own privacy policies.

Analytics, Tracking, and Advertising

We may collect limited anonymous usage information to understand how people use makemypost and improve the app. This includes feature use, whether actions succeed or fail, and general subscription activity.

We also collect crash reports and error information to find and fix app problems. Reports are not linked to your identity and do not include your photos or captions.

This information is not linked to your name, email address or Apple account. A random app identifier helps us understand repeat use. Analytics does not include your photos, captions, payment details or location.

Analytics service providers process this information on our behalf to help us improve the app. We do not use it to identify you or record your screen.

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not run third-party advertising SDKs.
  • We do not track you across apps and websites.

Apple may provide aggregated diagnostics (such as crash reports) to developers depending on your device settings and Apple's policies. We do not operate those systems and do not control what Apple collects.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because makemypost does not use accounts and stores most app data locally:

  • You can delete local app data by deleting the app from your device.
  • Some features may also provide in-app options to clear history or reset data (where available).

Subscription records are maintained by Apple as part of your App Store account.

Anonymous usage information, crash reports and error information are retained for up to one year and then deleted. Because they are not linked to personal details, we cannot locate an individual's reports using their name, email address or Apple account. Contact support@makemypost.app with privacy questions.

Children's Privacy

makemypost is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top when changes are made.
